ADD Switch

The other nice thing about manual hubs is when you do bust a CV, you can unlock the hubs and limp out in 2wd and not have to change the shaft on the trail.

Being able to run in 2low is just a bonus.

Don't you need all sorts of crap to convert the add to hubs? Like axles, tubes, hubs, and spindle crap. I would love to do the swap, it's just out of my price range right now. I just want to manually control the add stuff so i have a 2lo option.

Uh yeah, you do. It's easier on a 1st/2nd gen.

That's what you get for ditching that perfectly good 1st gen, ha ha. :flipoff:

Lol, yea I know. I'm getting too damn old for the old stuff. I need the comfy ifs and ice cold ac! Hell, I had the ac blaring this last trip into the mountains just so i didn't have to breathe in the dust. By the way, I should've bought your km's, i got screwed on these.

No I still haven't done it time hasn't allowed. I'm going to finish wiring my light bar and then may get this done soon

I may be speaking out of line here, but a locking hub swap on a 2nd gen is pretty straightforward.

My '87 had the auto hubs that I converted to Mile Markers. used them for
13 years that way. I transfered them over to my '94 (put the drive flanges
onto the '87 - buyer was fully aware and ok with it) and left the ADD alone.

I used 2WD LO all the time in both vehicles. I can't remember if I needed a
"conversion kit" aka: new star washers & nuts, but it worked great. I debated
locking the ADD in place, but it never gave me hassles, so I let it be.
