Hi everyone, I'm in the process of redoing my whole front suspension ( lca bushings, ubjs, new oem steering rack$$$,new front diff and lca bumps).new lbjs,otres and shocks/springs, we're done last year( planning to reuse lbjs w/ new bolts). I also would like replace hub bearings and possibly put gussets on the spindles.
I wanted to get y'alls opinions on a few things, I have most of the parts I need to swap to manual hubs. I've got another set of spindles and lcas. I'm trying to get everything together beforehand so i can just rr assemblies(lca and spindles). I'm just stuck, probably overthinking the decision on whether to swap or stay add. I'm going to do bearings and seals anyway, but there are differences in certain parts. Before I order bearings and seals and whatever else I need to, those who have done the manual hub swap please weigh in, does it make a difference in mpg, is it easy enough to use and maintain, if a cv broke would it be more difficult to find and replace, have you found this worthwhile, would you do it again?
I'm definitely delusional about needing spindle gussets for my dd, but there's no better time to do it and unless there's a negative effect, I think I'll weld something up. That said, what say those who've done this before?
