Now if this was my DD, I would run dark but this truck was bought for my kids to use and anything to help prevent an accident is worth considering. One of the first mods was a flashing high mount brake light. It flashes 4x then goes solid when you press the brake pedal. It resets after 20 seconds so it really only flashes when you first hit the brakes.

Today I added two LED lights to the fog light covers to turn on only when the ignition is in the on position and I used the factory fog light wires. Last time I was at the bone yard I pulled a few Weather Pack connectors to connect to the factory wires behind the bumper just in case I needed to remove or change them later.
I found these sealed LED lights on Ebay for $13/pair which fit into a 3/4" hole with a supplied grommet.

If you ever need to drill clean holes, this RotaBroach drill bit set is invaluable. It cuts perfect holes.
Install the grommets and lights and wire it up.
The fuse box under the dash has several circuits you can choose from. I used a "Add a Fuse" and tapped into the turn signal circuit. It gets power only with the key in "ON" so its perfect for DRLs.
Next I ran the wire from the dash up to the fuse box under the hood by the battery and connected it to the fog light circuit in the relay socket (18ga wire).
Go underneath the bumper and cut back the wire cover a couple of inches to expose the factory wiring.
If the lights don't light up, reverse the connection. The current can only go one way in an LED light.

They are very visable (hard to tell from the picture)
Becaue these LEDs pull only 20mA each, these will not affect the turn signal circuit at all but again, these are protected by a separate 3amp fuse under the dash.
