OK, so we have had some issues with getting caught up obviously. Plain and simple is that I HATE group buys for this exact reason.
Let me explain why. When the group buy first started, I estimated that maybe 7-10 MAX would actually order a bumper. So, my initial turn time estimates were based off those numbers. In the end, 21 bumpers were ordered, which has set us back a lot. Ever wonder why Scrockworks, and other companies get backlogged on their orders and end up with a 4-6 month turn time? Well, this is why. Group Buys cripple turn times and inevitably screw the customer in the long run. I am sorry for this and the delay in getting these built and out, but I assure you all, they are being worked on.
So, here is where we are now. At this time, I have two LED 3rd gen bumpers that are built and leaving ASAP. So, Flipstyle54 and Hour will be leaving soon. GVL is one of the ones at the press bender now that I am waiting on.
I also have three 2nd gen 4runner bumpers and another 4 3rd gen bumpers hopefully being picked up at my press bender early next week. Not to mention the 4th gen bumpers there as well. The 03-05s are still shipping before the 06-09s as they had to be tweaked after our last test fit. That is being laid out as we speak and I hope to have the layouts back soon. There is a lot of work into the 06-09s, and the price of those will soon be reflected by this. In fact, all of the plate bumpers will be going up in price in the next two weeks. There is a ton of fabwork in these.
Some guys have asked why we don't powdercoat. Plain and simple is that I have enough on my plate everyday to have to worry about how each bumper is finished, then crate them up so they don't get scratched in shipping, and then have to schedule a truck freight company to pick each one up. Also, it saves you on shipping(like another $150), and in the end, wouldn't you like to have the control yourself over how the product is finished? Meaning: if you have an issue with the powder coat, you don't have to ship it back to me to fix. You take it to your guy and deal with them directly. I do not want to be the middle man between you and the powder coater. I would rather you deal with them directly.
We will never powdercoat for this reason. IMHO, powdercoat is useless anyway since the first chip or rock it sees is going to scratch it, and you will have to touch it up with rattle can anyway.

I know what you mean. Mine was smashed during a hit and run three months ago. The Insurance company gave me $1700 to replace it. Decided to go the addicted route and replace it myself. Im going to use what's left for a new timing belt.

I winged it because they only had 3/4" for sale on their website. Ordered some smittybilt ones that should be here today.
I picked up my bumper over a week ago. Tried to do a test fit but one of my tow hook bolts snapped off. I'm still going to mount it, but that sucks. Scotty suggested I get it welded if I were going to do any serious winching, which I wasn't (like emergency only, I don't know what constitutes serious)... so I guess I have to.
Two of the holes on the mounting plate had little nubs in them, as in, weren't drilled perfectly circular for some reason. That made the tow hook bolt go in slightly crooked and get stuck, then snap. The other one is too out of round to even get the bolt started in. I'll be enlarging the hole. My main deal is trying to get a 9/16" bit to drill the two holes required. I don't have a 1/2" electric drill so I'll have to suck it up and buy one of those so I can get the bit. No luck finding reduced shank 9/16" bits locally.
Anyway, looks good, and just painted it flat black last night to keep the rust at bay. I had covered it with a drop cloth outside for the last week but some water crept in or evaporated from the ground then fell back on the bumper. Took maybe 5 minutes to clean up with a sanding sponge so no big deal, but my suggestion would be to test fit and then paint ASAP

What exactly do mean by tow hook bolts? Is this a part of the bumper that snapped off or the a bolt for the D-ring?
My biggest fear is that they are sooo far behind on the delivery of these bumpers that they are rushing to get them out and quality control is suffering because of this. Please tell me this isn't the case.
Glad you got your bumper - lets see some pics as soon as its fixed and mounted up.

This wasn't the case with mine. It was a quality build. The only problem I had was that the bolt holes didn't line up perfectly with my frame. They were roughly 16th of an inch off. This is probably because these trucks are getting older. Mine has 190,000 miles on it. Overtime they probably become slightly bent and twisted causing it to differ slightly from the jig they use at addicted. All I had to do was ream out the whole slightly with a half inch drill bit and an electric drill. It took me maybe 5 to 10 minutes. The only thing I wish addictive would have done differently was to include the 4 1/2 inch bolts to connect the mounting plate to the front of the frame rails. I'm not sure if they were supposed to be in the package and they forgot to put them in or if they're just not included and considered extra support for the mounting plate.

Thanks Tux. I'm sure Scotty wouldn't let a bumper out the door without giving it his personal seal of approval. It just threw me for a loop when Brandon said his tow bolt snapped off and wasn't sure if that was part of the bumper or just a bolt for his d-ring. If parts of the bumper were failing before it was even mounted then I would be really concerned, but I'm sure that is not the case.

I spent some time at Addicted the other week and I can say that the bumpers that he had there looked fantastic. I think that the plates aren't even drilled - they are fully plasma cut and then sent out to be bent. It sounds like there was just a little nub that got in the way of Hour's bolt.
Maybe its just me, but especially when buying a bare steel bumper, there are going to be a burr or two to be filed. If it were fully powder coated and finished, that would be different. My '87 bumper bolted on perfectly and he is probably using the same plasma plates. That bumper has had everything thrown at it as well and it is still perfectly straight.
Hell - I will probably throw a bead or two or at least some tacks on my new one for the '06 to keep it from getting stolen. Bolt on means bolt off just as easily...

Hay hour, you might want to try buying a bolt extractor kit from Lowes or your local hardware store and just drilling out the snapped bolt instead of welding the bumper in place. I don't know how much it would be to get the bumper welded in place. It might be cheaper just to buy the extractor kit and a bolt to replace the old one. Just an idea.

No problems with build quality here either, could be that it didn't line up perfectly with my frame. I'll try and take pictures to determine if it's a bump/burr in the hole AOR drilled or simply not lining up 100%. Either way I'll drill everything to ensure the remaining 3 bolts go in smooth.
And as far as a bolt extractor, I have no faith in getting that sucker out. If another one breaks for any reason then I'll try to get the mounting plate welded to infinity and beyond.

I just finished painting mine, but wasn't sure what to do behind the plate in the center with the 5 holes in it. What was your tactic to get paint back there?
Not like it shows... but would like to prevent rust

What primer/paint combo did you go with? Did it come out as nice as you planned? I'm leaning towards Rustoleum self-etching primer and Rustoleum Professional semi-gloss black enamel, but still open to ideas. Post a pic when you can.
