Adding a fog light switch, is my logic correct?

Thanks to antmans post about using the stock stalk and adding a relay, I was pondering a different route but I feared looping back power etc where it shouldn't go.

So there is the Grey and wire wire which sounded like is the 12v feed line for the fogs in the cabin by the feet.

Can I wire up a new switch, add a relay, take the relays output and tap into (to avoid cutting) the white and Grey feed to fogs to power them?
My only thoughts fear is if the fog light stalk gets activated if there was any issues there, or since I'm tapping into the fog feed that it may be looping backwards to something else?

I'd rather ask then doing something dumb and fry the ecu
