Adding auto down/up to all windows.

I love the auto down and up feature on the driver's window. Maybe I'm lazy :) but it's a nice-to-have feature.

What would it take to add such a function to all 3 passenger windows? If I wanted to come up with a way to do this, where would I start -- how does the function work?

Ur not alone... it's something I am very used to having as well.

I haven't really looked into it, but the one solution I came up was to use an Arduino so it is actually really inexpensive because it doesn't require any new hardware, just wiring and relays.

That said, I still haven't decided to actually do it. I would really prefer something a bit more robust, like just changing the switch.

i use 2 dei 530t modules.
gave me all auto up and down and also able to crack window open and close all window with aftermarket remote.

Are the plugs interchangeable from Lexus? My rx300 had auto up on all windows and doors. Could swap them maybe.

This looks interesting but it seems like alot of work for little reward. It also says that the vent and all windows down function does not work in 4 window mode? What if you were to wire all the windows to the driver switch then they would all go down or go up at the same time. :gun6:

It's actually very simple and very cheap (with junkyard parts) to do this. You use a module out of a Taurus drivers door for each window you want to mod. I don't have a link handy in my phone but google it if you're interested. Ps don't put 4Runner in your search.

Doesn't the LX470 have auto up and down on both front windows? maybe a switch swap as well as a front passenger window regulator/motor would be all that is needed as the auto features are a feature of the window motors themselves...

You'd have to add wiring to the new switch if I recall, the connectors are also different so you'd have to re-pin and/or cut/splice. I did look into it when I had a GX470 apart a couple years ago and it was too much work for little gain.

Thanks! Good to know. I'll likely just install dei 535t modules like I did in my tundra. Much less work and a lot less expensive...
