Adding heated seats?

I have an '04 Sport. IF I get, from the bone yard, electric leather seats (with heaters), is the wiring harness already under the carpet for the electrics and the heaters?
I understand that for the newer models it is not....

I await your knowledgeable reply's...

You should post your question on the 4th gen section. I would guess your 2004 would differ from our 3rd gen's/

probably best bet is junk yard or craigslist parting out. But junkyards is so hard to find 4runners. I have heated seats on my 01 Limited and I only use it once just to see if it works. LOL

That's probably your worst bet.

Best bet is make a post on t4r and wait for someone like me to chime in lol.

Junk yard, high chance of it broken
Junk yard, have you even seen one in a junk yard lol. I am on email notification for 7 yards in Atlanta area and have not gotten a hit on 90 to 07 4 runners.

Part out, who's going to sell you just a seat bottom warmer with out buying the whole seat?

Best bet is amazon search for hsk150 by crime stopper should be 45 to 50 per set. You need 2 sets for two seats.

Install it and be done with it. Look thru my signature, i have a write up on my rear seat heaters in my 4th Gen.

What I was TRYING to say was I'd get the whole ball of wax - seat AND base. Sorry for any confusion on that...it appears that Mother Toyota has made different wiring looms and there will be no connections for the power seat base and the seat heaters in my Sport model...

Now this gives me real hope. That wiring diagram makes it look fairly straight forward. I've already got the passenger side switch and the drivers side switch is on order, should be on the UPS truck today from Boulder CO. I've got both lower elements and one upper element. My favorite parts gal is researching the wiring through the service managers/techs and/or vendors that do the installs for them. I'm on a mission.

Did this ever pan out? Happen to have the part numbers?

Don't hold your breath for a reply... that poster hasn't logged on since 2010.

Was it Really necessary to bump a thread that hasn't been active in over a decade?

Probably not, no. But I figured it was more relevant than starting a new one since this is exactly what I'd like to do :)

Good choice IMO

I did this a long time ago. Bought a used '01 Limited seat and mixed and matched with my '99 Limited seat at the time. Bought a OEM switch on ebay. Worked great. I don't have the car anymore so the following is the best I can do.

This write-up used to have pictures so not sure how helpful it is now without them, but it has some sort of explanation as to what I did:
