I have had my eye on a TRDP in cement for a while, and finally began contacting a few local dealers to see if there's any chance to order or secure one (thinking I may be too late in the model year).
I am drawn to the TRDP due to the cement color and a few other features that don't really have anything to do with it's capability. I have never owned a 4wd, and not sure how much I would use it (if ever...maybe some light trails)...so I would be that guy with a TRDP that drives to work 50 miles round trip each day and rarely takes it off road. Yeah, I know...but the first step is admitting you have a problem...
What addtl standard/regular types of maintenance would this 4wd require than say, a 2wd SR5? Since I will rarely (who knows, maybe that will change when I have the capability) use it off pavement...should the 4wd and/or other systems be used periodically just to keep them so they don't go "bad". If so, what general intervals and/or types of activities are recommended?
And yes, I know that for my purposes there are other vehicles out there that better suit my needs. But I don't really need or like all the new tech in the cars, really like the look and feel of the 4Runner, and of course the reliability.
Thanks for any inputs, and feel free to flame away about this guy wanting a TRDP...can't blame ya.
