Well not much to update here. After switching to the AL rings I started getting some shimmy in the steering wheel from time to time. So I adjusted the rings thinking maybe I didn't mount them up very good but I was still getting the occasional shimmy.
Anyway Black is back and no more shimmy.

Went to the Big Meat Run in Disney, OK at Hogans Off-road Park on Friday. Had a great time and wish I could have stayed longer. We had one blown tire, one blown CV shaft stuck inside the housing, and a tail light busted out. I was fortunate enough to steer clear of any damage.

So since it was going to be a crap ton of work to pull the front case out and disassemble it to get what was left of the shaft out he decided it was time to start chopping. His plan is to SAS using Dana 44 leaf sprung with slider boxes. If all goes well on his rig mine will be next.

It trips me out every time I see one of your rigs going up this waterfall. Freakin bad ass. Those time lapse photos were awesome... it was very cool to see your rig in action, and nice videos too.
That was an impressive post, your rig can definitely get it.

Heck Yea! I'm really mad I couldn't go this year, flew in a day late haha. I see the waterfall, tree trunk hill, another one I don't recognize just off the picture. Any other trails you made look easy?
Pretty jealous of you getting up on the big rocks below the dam too. I just had to drive around them the last time i was there

Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy with how my 4runner performs only thing I don't like is the constant thought of blowing a CV.
It kinda worked out well for my buddy he was planning on SASing soon (has a lot of his parts accumulated already including a built Dana44) so when it broke we both kinda got excited about cutting it up.

You got most of them right there. Slaw Hill looked real sketchy but I was able to walk it with no issues. Ho Chi Mihn was a walk in the park. There was quite a few things we didn't get pics or video of but we also hit up the huge hill climbs and as sketchy as it looked I was able to walk the left line. I was pretty impressed with the rocks below the spillway too I figured I'd need to be locked up front and rear to make it but I just used my rear locker and after I figured out I was only in two wheel drive lol I was able to walk right up. I'll work on posting up a few more videos in a little bit.

Sounds like you beat most of the park! Me and my buddy ended up running some of Hogans Revenge but took the wrong turn somewhere in that maze and ended up just trying to find a way out so theres a good chance I've been on atleast some of all of those trails :lmao:. I'm guessing you did Roll Over Hill? Thats pretty impressive as I've seen some Jeeps on 44"s roll over without so much as a chance. Slaw hill is pretty gnarly too!
Two questions. This may make sense but it may not. First, there is kind of a main washed out section you can drive down where Ho Chi Minh, Roll Over Hill, and all the rest of those trails are on the left. Its the feeder trail for Ho Chi atleast. You get spit out onto it if I remember correctly. Well almost at the end of that there is one of the craziest hillclimbs I have ever seen. It had a memorial plaque from a Bronco forum on one of the trees but I have never seen a video or gotten the name. Dunno if you made it that far back or not but I've been trying to find info on that climb for a while. Second did you play around on the opposite side of that feeder trail (towards the river) at all? There are some of the craziest mud bowls. I remember one that was almost a perfect U in the ground and probably 6 feet the the bottom. Just like Mickey's Hot Tub but of mud.

I know what your talking about but we didn't make it to either. Unfortunately I had to work Saturday so I hit everything I could see in an eight hour time period before I had to get back on the road home. Next time I make it to Disney I plan to stay longer and hit up more trails.
It was an OEM CV. The CV he had on the other side was an O'reilly auto parts special and it's been holding up great. I know there's a lot of talk about the strength difference between OEM CV's and auto part store CV's. I'm not saying I wheel my stuff harder than anyone else on the forum but I've been a place or two in my rig and previous rigs. In my opinion there isn't a big difference between the two. I've wheeled with both and looking back I can honestly say that's I've only broken OEM CV's. Not trying to say that the O'reilly's CV's I've bought were any stronger I just don't think they are any weaker either.

Those videos were badass, your truck handled it no problem. best 3rd gen video ive seen in a while.
btw you bottom out at all on that waterfall climb? or you have skids?
also that one photo that got quoted this on pg9 where your truck looks to be on a extremely high climb, did you make that? any videos?

Quite the complement thanks! I smashed my slider on the passenger side a little on the way up but other than that no bottoming out on the waterfall.
Not sure which picture you are referring to. But I was able to climb everything except the video below. I think I could have with just a little more gas (small ledge I was almost over with the little bump I gave it) but it was early in the day and I wasn't in the mood to change out a CV if that's what it came down to.

Hopefully soon! I got an email from Mark at SW yesterday and my bumper had just come back from the powder coater and should be shipping by the end of the week.
