Adio3x's Build/Pic thread.

My buddy Kris (984runnerSR5) and I got together and made some limb risers. If you don't know what they are, basically they'll push branches up and over your rig while on the trails. Saving you from getting some deep pinstriping on your hood and across the side. We need these, especially cause the local trails here aren't cut for the wider rigs. I've already got some unfixable damage on both sides of my rig, these will help.

I'll get some more pics later.

It's an older pic, the bottom is now lined with sheet metal. I keep a small extinguisher at the front and the rear, just incase. The primus has a crud tray that pops out for easy cleaning. My biggest tip ontop of everything Qjake has already said is burn what's left in your hose after closing the propane valve.

Lol I ruled trailers out too. But after seeing one in person I really want one lol. I'm planning a big trip within the next couple years, I really want to do Missouri to Alaska. Rtt on the trailer along with extra fuel and full propane tanks. My interior room will be packed with camera gear, I need some extra room!

Now your talking, count me in on that one!

This build just keeps getting better and better.

The night shot is great. Are those the diffusion lenses on your SR-Ms?

Did your Gobi come with these silver light tab brackets? I haven't seen them on anyone elses rack except for mine. But basically these tabs will raise the cradles up to the level of the fairing mount thingy. We did have to cut down the screw just a bit.

Yep, mine too came with the silver tabs but I don't think I will be using them. My issue was getting the two 6" lights to fit in the middle. Cutting down screws was a option but I still would need to cut the wind deflector bracket to get the middle one to work with the cradle since they would need to go over the cradle instead of under like you did. Anyways, I decided to just put a 10" in the middle and a 6" on each side. Once it comes in I'll try with and without the silver thingys to see what works best.

How many rock lights to you use and where did you mount them?

Ah gotcha.

The vision x tantrum comes with 8 led pods. I mounted 1 in each wheel well, you'll have see where your tire hits first at full flex just incase. 2 spaced out on each side of the slider. It comes with this module box so you can do these custom strobe setting, but I ditched that, spliced into the wiring and ran it to a switch.

Sportin the Limb Risers! :hunter:

Your soon to run out of things to buy for this truck.....Guess we'll have to try and do something about that!

Looking good man.

The flux cored Mig is going to be the cheapest and cleanest looking weld for the price. If you have the money, and can afford a gas set up and the room for it, then go for that.

He speaks no lies, take it from someone who spends many hours a week in and around a fab shop....

Haha thanks man! They're just the regular sr-ms. As soon as I bought they, they released the SR-M2 lol.

Lol, thats why I'm building a trailer, running out of things I really want to do on the 4runner. :biggrin2:

Quick little update.

Started taking my headlamps apart, I thought it would be a long process, but for anyone thats doing it themselves, I'm almost done with one headlamp (took me about 2 hours).

Painting the reflectors satin black, going for the Jesse look, but keeping my orbits silver, looks like too much work to mask it off lol.

If anyone is interested in some HIDs, I'll be selling my Xenon Depot 6500k low hids.

Got kinda bored of the Countersteer X's (keeping them), new shoes for the fall will be here next week. Also the front end will be a little bit different ;):

I'd like to get atleast $150 & I have a bunch of new bulbs that I'll just throw in.

Its top secret, but you and one other probably know what the wheels are. If you look a few days back on my fb wall, you'll know what the front end will look like. :D

I may try and get these from you. Which kit from Xenon depot were these? And can I just plug in another bulb for them if I choose to like 4300 or 5000K?

And if it is what I think your referring to, it's going to be sweet!!

Will do sir. It shouldn't be much longer, I plan on knocking all that stuff out in one day. The real battle is the SW bumper :vader: lol.

Heard from the guys at FN wheels that you've got the Six Shooters on the way. I am deciding right now between the Type X's and the Six Shooters (but kind of leaning toward the Six's). Post up some pics soon!
