I made another overnight trip to the desert last week, to shoot footage for an upcoming video about the Devil's Canyon area. Here are a few pics:

I finally did something I've been wanting to do for a long time: I upgraded the interior lights, backup lights, and license plate lights, with LEDs.

I made another trip to the desert Wednesday night. Winds were fierce during the night, with gust of 55 mph! On Thursday it was a little better but still too windy to fly my drone or do some of the other things I had planned. However, I still had a great time, and saw some amazing things. Best of all, I saw and photographed some interesting birds, including a hummingbird with two young in the nest.

Just before I left, I spotted the nest of a Red Tail Hawk, and got this photo of a chick in the nest:

Though it's not a ghost town, this former mining town has many historic buildings, great scenery, and a chance to tour an authentic gold mine from the 1870s.

Here's another video in my series featuring historic sites and structures along the former San Diego & Arizona Railway. In this video we'll take a look at a pair of large, riveted steel viaducts, including the spectacular “High Bridge" over Campo Creek. And there's also a brief look at two lesser items of interest - a small deck bridge over Highway 94, and an old concrete call box at Division.

When I first viewed your video I was very impressed that you had acquired a vintage B&W movie clip and inserted it into your story. To now learn that you animated a moving train and auto into a still photo with flickering effects is even more impressive! Well done!

The signs I'd made for the back of Megaweapon have gotten old, so I made some new ones:

I also got some new recovery gear:

And I recently noticed that the weather strip is coming loose in one area on the passenger door:

I'm wondering what's the best way to fix this? I could glue it, but not sure if that's the best method.

Permatex and 3M make gasket/weather stripping adhesives that work well. Here’s a YouTube video that shows applying it like contact cement.

DIRECTIONS:
1 Clean surfaces thoroughly. Use abrasives to remove any powdery mold release from new weatherstripping.
2 Apply a thin, even film to both surfaces. Allow to dry.
3 Apply a second thin coat of adhesive to sections of weatherstripping not over3 feet long.
4 Bond immediately. Avoid putting adhesive on exposed painted surfaces. Always keep tightly capped when not in use.
