Advice on roof rack for surfboards, gear on 2Gen with no OEM rack?

I've got a 2GEN 1990 that badly needs a solid roof rack for surfboards and gear. Baskets are usually too narrow to carry 2 boards side by side.

This is a beater, off-road truck for Baja, so I want to spend as little as possible.

Any suggestions?

My concerns about the Yakima/Thule tower mounted racks (other than the price, which I can manage) is that they mount over the doors so will be about 30 inches apart which doesn't provide much stability.

Any thoughts appreciated!

I went with BajaRack. It's low, wide enough for two boards and looks cool with its rounded top tube. I like to stack two boards and leave the other side for gear. If gear is low you can easily go side by side with the boards over the gear.
