Advice Please: Installing lift right now

Passenger side rear shock removal is killing me right now. Finally borrowed a sawzall and cut the shock but I'm stuck here now. I kinda went nuts with the thing and I've got no experience with saws. Photo shows were I'm at now. Advice/direction would be a huge help.

Go buy a grinder, cuz the only option is to grind it off now. Most guys just take the shock off the axle and bend it back and forth until it snaps off. I was able to just grab mine with a pipe wrench on the shaft and use a socket wrench on the top, but you are well past that point.

i would suggest as well taking the coils out while you work on the shocks to get more space in there. but yes you are at the point where you need to get a grinder closer to the body mount and cut that portion off.

Either grinder or maybe might still be able to angle the sawzall up there and still cut that portion off. once you get that off you should be able to pick up the remaining pieces and toss them.
good luck!

I would go with a grinder. Another option would be to drill it out like a pop rivet. If you get a drill bit larger than the stem that goes through the mounting location and drill from the bottom up. The bit is big enough once you got through the fat part it would separate from the stem because the hole you drilled is physically larger than the stem. There would be no material left to hold it together. If you need a better explanation look up how to drill out a pop rivet, there are plenty of videos and sites showing/telling you how. However this would be slow and you could bugger up the mounting hole. You'd also need to get something on the top to stop it from spinning.

Looks like a grinder is going to be the way to go on this side. On the other side bend the shock back and forth. Should break in the right spot and no grinding.

+1 for the "bend the shock back and forth until it breaks-off " method . Although it's too late for you to do that now....

Finally got it by 45 deg. cuts with sawzall. Super sore from sitting like I did in 5th grade gym class though. Ill post pics when shes complete. thanks

I always use a 3/8th ratchet with a deepwell socket and an extension+universal and I never have to much trouble with the top mounts. It does take some serious yoga skills though, especially on the driver side.
