My 4Runner: 2000 T4R SR5, 5-speed manual, 3.4l, 190,000 miles
I've had a 2nd gen TRD supercharger on my truck for about 3,000 miles now.
Even without fuel mods, everything seems to be running fine (thank you, altitude), and I do really love having the extra power.
For peace of mind, I recently picked up an AEM wideband AFR gauge, thinking it would be good to at least keep an eye on any lean issues. I also have a TRD boost gauge that came with my supercharger, figured I'd install them at the same time.
Well, I started reading the AEM install manual, and holy f**k... it's like an engineering class.
My unit is the 30-4110 Gauge-Type UEGO Controller.
I'm pretty confident about the bung install and wiring, etc. I'm going to use the AEM weldless bung. I've installed boost gauges, oil pressure and temperature gauges before. It's the "tuning/calibration" that has me nervous. The manual is not written for folks like me.
Has anyone installed one of these, and successfully tuned? Am I overthinking this?
