In preparation for what looks like is going to be a VERY wet weekend camping trip I wemt through and mounted my axe and shovel on the tire swing out. I don't mind the look of them on the molle panels, but I don't have those yet, and here the little added weight is pretty low to the ground and is physically a lot more accessible.

Successful weekend at Uwharrie. I am super pleased with the build and how its performing.. but now onto trying to get a bit more flex with the new Icons that just showed up..
I have some rubbing coming from the front at times that I will try to get sorted out and then see about disconnecting the sway bar links to see how much more flex I can get out of this set up. Currently, as you can see from my 3-wheel action up the 2nd ledge of Daniel it isn't very much at all... I am hoping that the Icon's have a bit more down travel available front and rear and go from there. My brothers Rubicon on 37's walked right up that second ledge and barely even lifted a tire, I was 4 feet in the air at one point lol.
I also managed to destroy every single skid on my car.. luckily I have the front already on the way and the rest I will get on designing my own very shortly.

I agree, just didn't feel like spending the extra money on one since the surround I bought already came with the insert, but I've been eying some on ebay for a while. Would be a very fast swap. If I do it, it will definitely be the one without the raptor-style lights though.

So in the disappointment of having to winch up the 2nd ledge of Daniel at URE this past weekend I have another set of parts coming to compliment my Icon shocks going on hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks...
I just put in an order for Front Range offroad rear link set with the pan-hard bar and ordered a set of extended rear brakelines from Apex Overland.
The plan is that the combination of the new parts will allow for significantly improve down-travel and overall articulation over the current setup. That, coupled with disconnected sway bars that I plan on running next time around should give me quite a bit more articulation than I have now, so we shall see! Now to figure out a time to use the work forklift in order to test the before and after.... :clap2:

Finally washed the car after the last outing off road. Definitely found some trail scars lol.
Used both sliders really good, both sides of the rear bumper (really happy I went the rattle can route on this one lol) , dented every skid, and found a bent lower rear link on the passenger side from an impact on a rock.
Already had some links on order from front range offroad but they are delayed... really toying with the idea of designing my own... did a quick material price out and looks like I can build a set for around 200 bucks cheaper than buying... if the parts are all in stock that's probably what I'll do.
The trd pro grill came in today as well (imitation of course lol) and I love the look. Also got another piece of overland gear.. my Amazon version of the trasharoo (which actually seemed to have some not-so-good reviews).

Well, after doing a bit more research on the rear links and panhard bar my order with Front Range Offroad is cancelled and I have material coming from RuffStuff to weld up my own fully adjustable links.
I settled on 1.5" DOM tubing with .25" sidewall for the tubes and got their 3/4" high misalignment heims for both ends. If all goes to plan I should have a much more solid link than what I originally was upgrading to while also saving close to 200 bucks. My material total delivered ran right at $550 and the only additional stuff I may need is new hardware since these a heims are technically for 9/16" hardware.
There's a chance that I may have to end up enlarging the holes on the pick-up points, but I'm not opposed to doing that since I'm planning on reinforcing them with some 3/16" steel material anyway, at least on the lower ones that are prone to some rock damage. Can't wait, I've felt empty handed with all my fabrication projects complete, this will give me something else to weld up!

Got my next project underway while waiting on the rear shocks..
Decided to build the AdventureX (with a bit of a variation) rear drawer system to better organize and store all my stuff.
Took some time today making the cuts out of 1/2 " mdf for all the pieces. Cant wait to make more progress on this this weekend.

The drawers ended up being a lot more involved of a build than I anticiapted... lol. But being a first time that I've ever done something like this I am fairly pleased with the results.
Got some stuff to touch up on these to complete these before the stain and paint and all but overall they're close and I'm happy. Heavy.. they are heavy lol. Probably adding a solid 200 extra pounds.

It's heavy for sure, my biggest decision making was due to cost... this came in at 14 bucks a sheet (2×4 ft) vs nearly 3 times for plywood I wanted. But I'm planning to either just seal the mdf or paint it dark, possibly black, inside an out and adhere some soft material on top for easier sliding

Thanks ! Quality for 130 bucks is pretty decent. Definitely oem but neither is half my car lol.
For metal, I got half my metal through a work vendor in Gastonia. The other metal came from online metals.com. I'm looking for a local vendor where I can get some skid plate material at the moment though.
