Aftermarket Backup Camera Install Questions

I'm going to be installing an aftermarket rearview mirror backup camera in my 2013 SR5. A few questions for those more familiar with our 5th gens -

1) is there a rubber grommet under the rear "4RUNNER" Emblem to pass a wire through, like the 4th gens have? If not what is the best way to run the camera wire inside the rear hatch?

2) am I better off tapping into the reverse lights, or running my reverse trigger wire off a fuse in the dash?

The reverse sensing wire is under the dash above the fusebox. If your truck didn't come with a backup camera, there is a plastic snap in piece that closes off of the camera hole in the sheet metal.

You will have to drill a small hole in the garnish if you plan to run any wire through there. I mounted mine in the stock location, as there was space for the wires to be run without issues and it looks OEM.

As far as running the wire through the loom, use a snake and something to lube it (i used a small amount of coconut oil, but I hear soap works fine) with and it's a piece of cake. I ran my wires under the lower trim and to the head unit down the driver side kick.

This plastic snap piece must be under the garnish? So I need to remove the garnish to do the job correct? I hear it is Just help on with adhesive?

Yes, it is under the garnish and clips into the sheet metal. The garnish is held on by 4 nuts and a clip at the top on the opposite side of the Toyota emblem.
