Im not sure what they charge now, its expensive, but so worth it, and these are a true custom built bumper, they are built to to the rig, no over sized holes to allow for differences.
Anyone in Colorado that wants a bumper, should go and see them in person, see just how well built Armorlogy stuff really is, you will not be disapointed

you will pay a little more, but its SOOOO WORTH every penny, his bumpers are ROCK solid, he can build anything you want, its truely a work of art if you seen them in person.

As far as a winch, go WARN or go home, lol

That is a nice lookin bumper, best one so far.

Synthetic winch line can stretch and become thinner, getting caught between the edges of the rollers, or scratched corners can cut the line.

That's true, also don't run a synthetic line in a roller fairlead after a steel cable. It will chew up your expensive synthetic line.

Something I never considered was water resistance, but now thinking about it, it seems that having a water resistant winch is very important for rainy day/water-crossings/car wash/etc. Are all of these winches water safe?

Yes Electronics/Gears of the winch are definately Sealed. Cash washes and rain will have no effect on them. The only thing that suffers is the STEEL cable. I recommend Synthetic. I have had steel on my 82 CJ7 and 06 Unlimited Rubicon and It becomes a HUUUUGE mess after multiple Rains/off Roading adventures. Right before I sold my jeep my steel cable got soooo tangled on the spool I had to use a Dremel to cut it apart.

Any reason for the big difference between VR1,000 and M8000? IS it just speed and gears, or is it durability as well? Seeing as I don't plan on using this winch all that much, only occasionally, has anyone had experience with the first one I linked?

From a durability standpoint it should be similar since its the same manufacturer. That being said, the M8000 has been proven for years where as the VR series is fairly new so only time will tell.

Not too many comparisons between the M8000 vs VR10000. However, there are a few M8000 vs VR8000.

This is what I found when researching winches (excerpt from jeepforum.com - supposedly a response from WARN detailing differences):

The main differences between the current M8000 and the VR8000 are:

• They use a different motors
• They utilize a different gear-train configurations
• They have different hand-held remotes
• The VR8000 uses solenoids in the control pack and the current M8000 uses a contactors

and additional comparisons:

No load line speed
M8000 = 42 ft/min
VR8000 = 29 ft/min

8000 lb. line speed
M8000 = 8.01 ft/min
VR8000 = 4.8 ft/mim

Engo winches are looking appealing at the moment. The price arises suspicion, however, it should last a few year, then I can upgrade at that point. 4x4 magazine reviewed Engo, and was very impressed.
