Aftermarket Homelink install help?

Hey all, just purchased this homelink remote

for my 17 SR5 that unfortunately did not come with it. Has anyone installed one of these before? Is there any factory wiring up there already that I can tap into? I think I can figure out the 12v ign on source but not sure on the illumination/back-light power source. If anyone has done this any insight would be greatly appreciated!

You have an SR5. Why not buy the Oem homelink roof console? Its like $136 IIRC.

Should return it and buy the upper console w/ homelink. Without the MTS and Crawl Control, the HomeLink upper console isn't that expensive. Then it looks factory also.

Crap, I didn't think it would be pre-wired due to no sunroof? Does anyone have a part #?

A homelink equipped rear-view mirror might be an easier install. Depending on the connector you have to your current EC mirror.

Its been covered on these forums. You will have to search for the P/N.

Because its not an option on the base SR5, so I am unsure of if there is a harness plug for the homelink present. I have found the part #, however there appears to be more than one overhead console with the power sunroof switches, and another with the blank. I cannot find the one with the blank.

I found it over a year ago so i know it exists. I used that thread to get the P/N for mine.

You can also use a Toyota online parts website and look at them all that way. Then just order the one you want.

the wiring and circuit board are in the roof console for all of the switches, the truck only provides power.

buy it and install it. Its literally plug and play.
