AfterMarket LED Smoked TailLights Beware

What's up Guys & Gals,

I thought I'd pass on my experience with this ebay sellers product. Four months ago I purchased a pair of LED Smoked Taillights from ebay seller dreamconceptz for $150 plus. Recently a row of lights failed on the passenger side. I contacted the seller and was told a replacement would cost approx $30 plus, to cover shipping both ways. Of course, I passed on this offer to invest additional monies in this defective product and seller.

I'll smoke my own stock tails soon.

Mind telling us the manufacturer of your tail lights?

I have Eagle Eyes, mine have not failed for 2 years now.

Clemsonfan had his Eagle Eyes fail on him, though they replaced them free. I guess it's best to go with a certain seller, ours was sabersport.

Same here i have the Eagle Eyes and two of the rows of light on passenger side are blown (had them since march 09) now for about 6months but i didn't bother calling up the seller for replacement because i know i would get the run around so i just role with it as-is

that blows dude! thats one thing that worries me about these things cause you cant really get a replacement at Autozone. BTW im pretty sure all of the LED tails are made by Eagle Eyes. Mine are the same brand and i bought them for 129.00 from a user on ebay named CTRUSA. Hopefully i dont have to call up for any warranty issues soon

I picked up mine from Burtman Industries - any thoughts on their product?

I haven't even dived into them yet as they are sitting at the border waiting for me...

DEPO makes some and there's other brands.

BTW, I forgot to mention that all of the failures I've heard of were these specific smoked style that 8sm and Clemsonfan have. Nothing wrong with the red style that I've heard of.

ive always feared that happening to mines as well, but i bought it from sabersport and its the eagle eyes ones as well and had them for about 1.5-2 years now and still running.

i hope you get to figure something out.

if you look at the lens of the tail light, just at the bottom, it should have the logo of the brand.

I have the red one's and 1 row on my pass side failed.

Thanks COB...... I keep the 4runner up north, next time I'm up there ill check it out. I wonder has anyone gone direct to the manufacture for replacement?

just curious, have any of you guys sealed your LED tails? i noticed when i first put mine on it rained and i noticed a good amount of condensation build-up just along the outside edges of the lens. After i saw that i vacuumed the water out and sealed it up. I wonder if this has anything to do with the rows going out??

Same thing happened to my first pair, except that the row that was out was on the drivers side if I remember correctly.

I guess we shouldn't expect too much considering they come from China. At $150+ a pair it would be nice if they lasted longer though.

Is there a way to get them apart to see whats going on with the electronics, or are they glued?

I didn't see any easy way to get into the actual LED housing. Everything looked sealed up to me.
