Aftermarket Radio Dash Kit Blank Space

So I did some playing around with a stock radio faceplate and this is what I have so far. I got the radio to fit after some cutting, but I don’t like how I did the black bezel around the radio. I’m still messing around with what to do with that. I have some matte black vinyl wrap coming that I might use on some parts. The buttons do not function, nor was I going to be able to get them to without some serious custom circuit board work. I don’t have any backlighting yet but have some lights coming in that I’m going to try for the buttons.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of upgrading to after market. Floating heads have become the new normal for a lot of mfgs and they grow on you after being around them a bit. The Alpine seem just a little to “square” for our rigs but pioneer announced a few new units coming out that are a little more rectangle, thinking this is the way I’m gonna go. Will have to wait until these actually hit the masses. I will be mounting in the bottom slot of the trim panel to avoid the vents as much as possible.

Definitely more wires and connectors than I'm used to, but it works well with the Maestro kit. Also found a guy on eBay who was very helpful and had the items shipped to me quickly. I actually have a friend that owns a body shop and they matched a section of the center console. I would recommend that if you know someone. I know that doesn't help much but the cost was well worth it.
