^^Ya would love to see pics.. went to the parts department this morning and for part #86150 was $589.. after hearing that I wasnt even interested in the other two parts.. you could make something out of fiberglass for cheaper than that..

I just got my 130bt installed last night.
However, we couldn't get the steering wheel controls to work for the life of ours..

Guys who had the steering wheel controls working, any tips?

To hook up the backup camera you need to tap 3 wires on this plug. Lol, what a mess. Obviously I'm not a professional installer.

They are the red, black and white wires on the right of the plug when you are looking at it as in the picture above. The white and black wires get spliced into an RCA. The Red one goes to a 12v source.

I know the pictures are confusing so here is the wiring diagram, the plug is G20. I think your looking at the back of the stock deck in this picture so the three you want are the last three on the left in the bottom row of the G20.

Maybe your also suppose to ground it but I tried and it didn't make any difference. All I know is this worked for me. Hope this makes some sense.

Kingpin, I just did this and it worked! Thanks! After finishing the camera, I searched everywhere for the reverse wire. I am trying to avoid running the wire all the way to the tail light. Any chance you've found a wire close to the unit? Anyone? Thanks!

Its not just the SR5 and trail edition people that need help!! I have a2011 limited with the nav system and no bass, its horrible!! Looking to change whatever helps!:boink:

Really? My system has received a lot of compliments from my other buddies, some of which think the bass in my truck sounds clearer than thier aftermarkets. I know that for me, at least, it sounds pretty decent and I'm not really willing to rip out the NAV and all my speakers (not to mention fabricating custom brackets) to change it. I have seen some really sick systems on here, but mine does the job for me and I have no real complaints.

I've adjusted all the various levels, and the DSP modes. Have you tried adjusting the sound levels snomobile? You can set them all independently. (ie.. CD/SAT/AUX/BT etc) Just hit the "sound" button from your touch screen (hit AUDIO first if your looking at the nav map) and then adjust it accordingly.

I HATE my pioneer AVIC Z120BT navigation...I could do a better job just guessing which way to go and would make it there faster

Any suggestions for a better unit? Kenwood maybe?

I don't want to spend a lot of cash, but I do want a touch screen navi. Would I have to run an amp as well? I just have the base system.

dammit. Don't tell me that. Harper7's posts on page 10, slightly sold me on the AVIC Z120BT. It looked like a clean install(somewhat) with that metra plastic harness/bracket. Even more so since the price is like half of what it was a year ago.

I'm not going to buy anything soon, but, am interested in something since the base SR5 head unit is crap. I knew i didn't want the factory nav, since those are usually lacking cool features.
I see that we are all in the same area. In regards to the navigation is that just because of the area we live in, and there is pretty much congested traffic at all hours of the night, OR have you driven with it for a bit and have seen the unit take you on weird turns/u turns, etc, etc?

I appreciate you both warning me about it though. I've got so many plans in my head about what i want to do to my 4runner that i don't even know where to start!

In full disclosure, I use Kenwood head units because of the Garmin navigation.

I screwed up!
I took pictures DURING the install, but haven't taken a picture of the completed job.. didn't have a chance since weekend, so I didn't post the pics.

Will post the process today, and result tomorrow.

i paid 950$.
bluetooth integration is AWESOME! I love it.
Navigation could use a little improvement,but it works better than I would be willing to accept, so i'm happy.
real time traffic (free with my unit) is super helpful, and unit can adjust the route based on traffic conditions.
GUI is absolutely fantastic.

when, exactly, were those times?

i've been in the car field for about 7 years (in US), and the high end units have always floated in the 1000+ range.

Make sure that you don't switch to a Lexus or an equal value vehicle.. that's where the real $$ comes in to mod the car.

I guess I was just never that much into car audio like everyone else was.

So is your's a high end unit, or a middle of the line one? 950 sounds like a lot of coin. I didn't even spend that on my house AV receiver. LOL
