AIC-100i IPOD Adapter Ready

I've been checking their website at least once a week for the past 3-4 months and when you actually went to place your order they only listed Lexus vehicles as options. So sometime in the past week they added Toyotas to the list and claim it works with our navigation systems.

I'm really getting tired of the single CD player in my nav so I want to do this pretty soon. But the ipod adapter from coastaletech appears to allow direct access to artists, albums, etc. instead of just limiting you to only playing your playlists. So I kind of want to wait for it but I don't know how long I can go.

I'm exactly where you are. I can't tell for sure but it looks like the AIC-100i unit only allows iPod navigation within the playlist groups and within playlists. Can anyone confirm this?

This sure seems like a pretty limited navigation functionality to go through this $ and hassle.

The CoastaleTech looks good, at least from their picture it implies that it will allow full iPod navigation including artist, album, song, etc. Anyone with info on release timing? Their CSR won't say anything and their website has been stuck on "coming in several weeks" for at least several weeks.

I just took my dash apart to install the pac audio aux-pod to no avail. The NAV HU in my 04 4runner ltd did not recognize it. I don't think this nav hu is compatible with a CD changer which is what was required for the aux-pod to work. Wondering if the coastaltech will ever work with the 04 NAV

I've been nagging vais all week and they have not yet confirmed the aic-100i will work with 04 nav unit. I'm going to ask for a demo unit to test on my 4runner as they seem to having a hard time confirming compatibility.

Have you had any luck ipodding your 4runner?

I haven't made the leap, yet. I'm still holding out that Coastaletech.com will finish up theirs pretty soon and it will be better.

I guess I am now too as I missed out on the group buy and don't wanna commit ~$400 for something that might not work and have to commit to a month wait to find out. (Vais charges your card now and ships when ready, to me that's a signal to runaway)

Vais was also not at all interested in shipping me a unit to test even though I offered to provide a CC # and pay full boat if it really worked. (i.e. "since you can't confirm that it will work don't charge me till we both know it does")
