Air Bag Light on even with truck off - Help

Any one ever had the airbag light come on and stay on even with the truck parked and shut off with keys out of the ignition?

I just noticed mine is on, thought it was the door open light at first but oh no. No such luck.

I tried starting the truck and the light seems to behave normally, it comes on for 5-6 sec then goes off and stays off while the truck is running. But shut her down and remove the keys and in 2-3 seconds the light comes back on but it is kind of flickering slightly. That worries me.

It's a 1996 3rz with 160,000km. Never had any issue with the light before. Not doing any work on the truck at all, just noticed it on.

Update.

Not a definitive answer but close enough.

Tested the airbag wiring as per service manual, no problem found.

This would indicate a faulty airbag sensor module - which I highly doubt.

While testing I noticed that when the airbag light was on my built in Voltmeter which measures the Accessory cct. was reading a 4.5V. WTF?? With the key OFF this should not be. I pulled the Acc fuse out of JB1 under the dash and measured with a DVM and there was still 4.5V on the Accessory cct with NO fuse in. WTF?? I then noticed that when I pushed or tapped JB1 this voltage varied slightly. FSM shows this ACC cct powers the airbag sensor module also.

Bingo. We are camping in Utah and lately the weather has been COLD and wet. Several mornings lots of damp and/or frost on the inside of the windshield as we sleep in the runner. We have not been driving much, truck sitting day after day and this water was dripping down onto JB1 fuse block. I pulled it out, firmly pushed in all the relays and wire plugs on the back. Then I let a fan blow on it for 1/2 a day and now no more airbag light.

Will keep an eye on this. May get a junkyard JB1 to keep for a spare, maybe fashion a splash guard above it, or just keep the interior drier.
