Air Intake

Hey,

I've bought a cone style air intake for the 4runner but when I was looking at what I had to remove, I was surprised to find a choke like flap that regulates air from the stock intake.

Also, there were few air tubes coming from area's of the block I'm not too familiar with.

My question is: has anyone put on of these on a found that they had problems with cold starting (-35 to -40 Cel) ?

What's the other air tubes going to the air intake for?

Are there problems associated with this "high-flow" cone type air intake that anyone has encountered?

Thanks!

The only problems that I'm aware of are:

1. They don't filter as well as the OEM set-up, potentially harming your engine and

2. They aren't going to increase your engine's performance one bit. That engine is not starved for air unless you have made quite a few modifications to up your HP to 150+ (based on a 22R or RE).
