air passage for air vent

on the 96 4runner where is the vent that get outside air in the cab??

today i broke the flap that opens and closes on the ac motor assembly and i really dont want to take it out nor spend to replace so i figure just to close that said vent keeping air from outside outside.

thanks for any tips

It is under the passenger side windshield wiper, under the black grill piece. But it is terribly hard to get to. Under that black plastic grill on the passenger side is a sheet metal passageway that is only open on the ends. The air vent sits in the middle where you can hardly see it and hardly reach it.

You will need to pull off both wiper arms and then the plastic grill that tends to break fasteners. Then you can kind of see it from there.

Do you thing that it would be an issue to cover that passage from the inside with some type of foam ?
