Airaid intake question

So I just installed the intake tub today and it does sound a lot louder and a lot more air flow coming in, but I was wondering if I need this hose here or should I plug it? The hose appears to be coming from the power steering area, is it needed? Also the hose on the top is that too long or should I cut it a little shorter?

It doesnt do anything, get rid of it. Toyota figured it looked cool so they put it in there. Just like how your 4runner only needs 1 door, the other 3 aren't really needed.

Plug in all the hoses, use the caps for any open holes in the tube.

What can I plug the bottom hole with the one by the power steering?

anyone else have thoughts on what I should do? What about the top hose as well? Is it too long?

OP. really wtf are you talking about? You need to plug in all the hoses you unplugged into their respective position on the airraid tube. You shouldnt have any spare hoses. You may have too many holes in the tube and you need to use one of the supplied plugs to plug the airraid tube.

You need to hook up all the hoses that were hooked up on your OEM intake.

So if you plugged that area on the tube what do I do with this opening? Right now as you can see on my first picture it's plugged in the way it is now.

Why do you assume your vehicle is like mine? I have a 99, you a 97.

IF that hose was connected to the OEM intake, connect it similarly to the airraid.

If their wasnt a different in years, the tube would not have the extra opening and the supplied plug for my application. Why would they make the tube with the extra port, just to plug it? think about it man.

Your S prob just fine the way you connected it. I think you're just overthinking it.

Looks like you have it hooked up correctly in the top pic. Why would you want to delete the hose?

Just wondering saw pics of it plugged etc, and I'm still curious is my hose on the top too long? I haven't had any issues so I think I'll keep it the way it is. Thanks for the input though guys.

I installed an airaid jr kit years ago on a 2wd 00 model and I didn't cut that hose down. I think it's fine just like you have it.
