Airbags on 2014-2016 4Runners?

Hi,

Did Toyota make any improvements or changes to the airbags in the 2016 model year 4Runner?

I saw a used 2014 model that is in good condition that I might pull the trigger on. However, at one point I saw an article that mentioned in the 2016 model year they did an upgrade to the airbags but unfortunately I can't find the article. Overall there appear to be minimal changes for the 2014-2019 model year 4Runner with the 2020 year being the big upgrade with the new navigation system and Toyota Safety Sense.

The important upgrade is/was handled with the Takata recall so they won't explode and kill you. As they have had knee airbags, curtains, etc. before the years you mentioned I do not know what other upgrades they would've done.
