Airconditioned Glove Box??

Odd thing has started happening with my air conditioning. Curious if any of you have experienced this too. After having the a/c on fill blast for 30 + minutes, I notice that the air seems to stop coming out from the vents and instead seems to be blasting into the vicinity of the glove box. Not really "in" the glove box but in that area. I have to shut the a/c down for 20 or so minutes and it sort of resets then blows normally through the vents. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I hear of the in-cabin filter getting plugged up with debris (odd finds sometimes) and it causing the system to clog up... let us know what you find!

Like everyone is saying check your cabin filter since it is right there behind the glove box.
Or better yet put a six pack of Guinness in your glove box and drive 10 to 15 miles pull over on a nice 4X4 dirt road and tip those cold ones back.

Sounds like the evaporator is icing up. Maybe use 65 on AUTO instead of full low?

Not 100% related but i have air conditioned my center console. Always have ice cold Dews on hand.

Interesting, check your CAF (Cabin Air Filter) as has been stated already. Make sure there is actually a cover/carrier installed for the CAF (I've seen a lot of cars missing the CAF cover...). The icing up evaporator is an interesting idea, check to see if your vehicle is properly draining condensation (Should see water dripping from the vehicle when running the A/C) more common than not, icing of the evaporator is caused by condensation not being able to drain away and freezing in the evaporator.

Hope you get it figured out. :keyboard:

Thanks Guys. I will check the CAF and see what she looks like. Not sure about a cover for the filter. I've changed it before and don't remember a cover per se. Total bonus on the posting about the a/c'd console. Love that idea. Cold Dews or Coronas is a definite score! Thanks again guys.
