^Some might recognize the Gold Digger who doesn't post much on here, poor fella burned up his clutch. He has a spare with the fylwheel off my motor that I sold him. He needs 4.7 gears.

I cleaned her up a bit today and replaced lost paint

And I never posted pics of my shifter cover. I used 20 gauge sheet metal cut and shaped to fit with rubber home door molding to seal it

My back tires were rubbing the rear and top of the fender opening pretty bad. I trimmed them yesterday, using a sawzall with a fresh blade for each cut. I used a steady hand with a sharpie to mark the cut, using my middle finger to run along the lip with the sharpie in my index and thumb. I cleaned the burrs with a dremel.

Post cut, I took out about an inch from the front upper radius to rear bottom

I took it to work today and checked clearance.

It needed about 1/2" more clearance at the rear of the opening, so I cut them again this evening. I will have some wheeling pics tomorrow.

Looking sweet man. With those mirrors, even though they are broken, they still probably have some usable parts inside.. And random, but what paint did you use for the frame rails?

Thanks.

I just mean the shells of the mirrors are broken, but actually they don't work either. I would like to get them to work, that would be nice to angle them down when backing up.

I cleaned the frame with POR15 marine clean, used rustoleum primer on bare metal, and rustoleum satin black.

When I bought my truck, the driver side power mirror was broken cause the PO accidentally hit it with a tennis ball while playing fetch with his dog. I gotta say it is nearly impossible to fix them because parts do not exist anymore. I searched online and found some but they were discontinued. So I ended up having to do some custom work..

I went to Uwharrie NF yesterday with a few friends. It was great, no issues for me, but my friend had some trouble with his Taco.

I was planning on going wheeling today, but the Glamourunner has developed an issue that slowly got worse. With light throttle, the throttle plate will not close when throttle is let off. The plate will get stuck open so the engine will not idle unless I blip the throttle. I think it is a vacuum leak. A lot of my hoses are old and cracked.

LCE is having a weekend 10% off sale, so I ordered a silicone vacuum hose kit, EGR block plate kit, billet plug wire bracket, and a short shifter kit.

It operates fine with the engine off. When running, I can twist the throttle plate to 1500-2000k and it will hold unless I push it or rev it and quickly release. I'm thinking it is vacuum of the dashpot, but I learn as I go with this thing so I am not sure.

That really sounds more like a worn shaft and a worn butterfly as when running the shaft is pulled back towards the engine under vacuum where as when there is no vacuum the spring is pusing the throttle closed(forward) i had a severly warn shaft in secondaries on my 73 f150 that would do the same thing...
The shaft on my secondaries wallered the rod and the carb and was not worth fixing so i eventually wired them shut but if so engaged them the shaft would rotate just enough they would bind under the vacuum but not under non running condition

You may be right, as far as I know it still has the original TB with almost 300k miles. The issue only started a couple weeks ago and is getting worse. I will troubleshoot it more this week.

If you look in the 1989 4Runner thread in my signature, on one of the engine pictures, you can see a cheap solution if it is just the spring. Just loop some nylon string or wire around the butterfly valve with a spring running to the firewall and it should work.

I added a spring to the throttle linkage temporarily until I either get the bushings replaced or replace the throttle body. It works but the accelerator is stiff.

It drives pretty good on the street. Not as much bump steer and wandering with hydro assist, and much more responsive steering.

I got my spark plug loom, short shift kit, vacuum hose kit and EGR block off kit. I will install the rest as time permits

I plan to get a 4xinnovations full length cage soon
