I've camped in a lot of places but Alabama Hills was pretty interesting... with the landscape and shape of the rocks, it was a pretty unique place.
That place will always be somewhat special to me... it's the first time I ever camped alone and on the first trip to that place... the experience has it's own sketchy feel to it.
The wheeling wasn't that great, but it was a fun place to camp and relax.

Definitely a great place to camp and light off-roading. Busy this past weekend but definitely worth the trip to get out of the city.

It’s not my first choice to go when I want to get out of the city… but the star viewing out there is pretty fantastic. I was able to see the milky way without any optical assistance.
The only reason I went there in the first place was because I needed a place to sleep on a month long road trip (Overland Excursion lol) from San Diego to the northern part of Oregon / Tillamook cheese factory, which was my last stop until I made my way back down… I was looking for BLM land along the way so there was a lot of exploration of the unknown.
That said, I can’t wait to go back.

Enjoy it out there while you can, I've heard they will be shutting it down to Dispersed camping due to the amount of trash out there that people are not packing out. Same goes for the Buttermilk's in Bishop. I was out there last week and it's pretty obvious, cigarette butts, broken glass, shallow catholes with toilet paper poking through.......pretty f'ing ridiculous that people don't understand the concept of packing out.
