Thanks for the info. Yeah, mag chloride is extremely corrosive. Think of it as liquid salt. The fact that it is in a liquid state means it gets just about everywhere on and under your car. That's why it's important to wash your car regularly after snow storms if they use salt or mag chloride in your area.

Mag chloride SUCKS!!! It is extremely corrosive. It damages chrome and bare aluminum surfaces, and maybe even worse, rubber! Yes, rubber.

I think the worst thing the mag chloride degrades are your CV boots. Not sure if it is because that is a moving part, but shortly after moving back here, I had both CV boots on my other vehicle crack after the first couple snow storms (and they were fine before that). The ones on my 4Runner are noticeably harder than they used to be. :dammit:
