Dipping continues. Finished cleaning up the lines on the driver side flares. Then got the front trim piece dipped. I got the "Dip Nozzle" in from DipYourCar.com and tried to use it. Ended up not liking it, puts out way too much product IMO. It goes on quicker but not near as smooth as the other nozzle. Did 5 coats with the dip nozzle and the finish is good, but not quite as smooth as the flares were from the normal nozzle.

Also found out meguiar's supreme shine protectant works great on the dip. Really darkens it up and gets rid of the "rubbery" feel leaving it nice and smooth. It's also a UV protectant which should help out as well.

Just a little update. White Knuckle offroad sliders will be arriving tomorrow. Plan to get them installed sometime this week. Also placed my order for the Gobi Stealth roof rack from the group buy thread.

Now I just need to be banned from this forum for a few months or my wallet is gonna hate me!

Got my White Knuckle Offroad sliders in today. Came home to them literally laying in my driveway. So much for requesting FedEx to hold them at the store for me. Thankfully my security camera notified me when FedEx pulled up and just dumped them off so I could leave work early to get them.

The quality of these sliders looks amazing, super sturdy and powder coat is absolutely flawless. Can't wait to get them installed later this week.

Nice! I ordered some Schrockworks last week - so hopefully I will be putting them on "sometime" this year. I was considering the White Knuckles as well, can't wait to see what they would have looked like on my rig...haha.

Got the GOBI Stealth in today and got it bolted up this evening. Ran out of daylight to get the ladder and wind deflector on. Absolutely love the way this thing looks. Still manage to clear the garage by an inch or more too.

Just curious why you went with 255/80. Most people do like 275 or 285. Is there something different with the 2014 on the fender liners or body mount? I would think with -10 offset you could run wider without problems.

No reason other than personal preference. The 255s are lighter than 285s and cost less so that was a big factor. And the skinnies should do better in rain and other sandy/snowy conditions vs the wider options. Plus I had Coops on my 3rd gen that worked great and I really loved the look of the new ST Maxx's when they came out. When I saw the 255 size I decided to take the plunge and be the guinea pig.

Nice looking lift and tires. The 255 are less weight and therefore less rotational inertia so the gas mileage should be good compared to a 275 or 285.

As far as I can tell from the Konig website and one dealer site those Konig Countersteer wheels are no longer available. They look really good. Simple lines. Better than anything else I see from Konig. Does anyone know where these can be found?

I've been following your build closely as I have a 2015 TE coming in next week and have plans much like yours. I was considering line-xing the fender flares as you have done (with plastidip) I really appreciate you posting pics of your build. It's been very helpful.

Been spraying plastidip all morning. Driver side flares are done. I'd say they turned out pretty well. The lines from pulling the tape off aren't perfect on the parts where the flare is molded into the bumper, but are good enough. I imagine they could be better with some proper automotive painters tape. I'm just using the blue stuff for painting walls.

Now to do it all over again on the passenger side!.......

Your comment caught my attention.. I have a question about the weight of the 255 Maxx's. My research says that they weigh 58 lbs which makes them heavier than many 285 tires. Have you weighed them? Are they lighter than that in reality? I like them but was a little put off by their weight when you can get 285 duratrac's that weigh 53 lbs a piece.

This is the one I got. Comes with the wiring harness and was super easy to install. 3 wires, ground, and 2 +12v for home link power and dimmer power. Just got an add-a-circuit and spliced it in. Thanks man!

It's really just a cheap China DVR kit I got on NewEgg black Friday a few years ago. Once you get past the terrible menus and figure out how to set it up, it works pretty darn well. Mobile phone app and all. I wish it was higher resolution but still works fine.

How did you run the harness to your Add-A-Circuit?

I just routed it up through the headliner, down the pillar and into the fuse box below the driver seat. Pretty straight forward.

Got the ladder and wind fairing installed for my GOBI rack last night.


Front 40" light bar ready mounts.

Rear light mounts.

mesh and the removable crossbars.

And some extras.

Also installed a strip of XPEL clear paint film for the wind fairing to rest on.

Almost forgot the cargo tie-down system. Even almost forgot to un-box it. Oops!
