Alignment and 265/70 Tires

Just wanted your opinions on whether I should get an alignment with the new BFG 265/70/17 tires I just put on. Theres only slight rubbing at full lock, otherwise all other driving it rides great. The 4runner drives fine and straight, but the guy says going up a size in tires you should really do an alignment. Yours thoughts?

I usually do not if my car is still driving straight and showing no ill effects of the upsizing. However, alignment would not hurt...because if your 4runner is not align properly, then your new tires will suffer in the long run.

What type of alignment then? He is suggesting a 4 wheel alignment for $60. I thought I read somewhere on here that you cant do a 4 wheel alignment on the 4th gen 4runners.

True, Kind of. They still have to put all 4 sensors on the wheels to check the alignment even thou there is no adjustment in the rear. There still is a factory spec for the rear and they will be able to tell if it is in spec.

If you really want to make sure you get the best life out of a set of tires you should have the alignment checked after the new set is installed no matter what size tire you put on. $60 is a reasonable to me. The cheapest I found where I am at is $65.

If your average set of tires last 2-4 years, alot of pot holes and curbs can happen in that amount of time.:D

Got some 265/70 and never went to align. Still drives perfectly straight with 140k and I do rotate tires every other oil change. Tread is wearing perfect :)
