all it would have taken is a o im sorry

Don't even get me started on people hitting my car/truck.

My favourite one is I had a 17 year old Acura Integra that was spotless inside and out. No rust, and the interior was taken out for 10 years and then put back in so it was mint all around.

Parked it on a street in front of a friend's place and took his car, return back that night and the whole driver's side fender and door is crushed in and the car is up on the curb. I couldn't even open my door or drive away the metal was in my tire. Someone must had come out of an opposing driveway without looking at all.
Took to police - office said it's an old car you can get a new fender for one at a junk yard. After walking away mid sentence, I just gave up.

Two weeks later I park it at another friend's place in front of his house, come back later that day and notice that the dent is now somehow even bigger.
Lady runs across the street yelling her mom hit my car, she thought she did all the dmg from before as well.

I felt bad, she was honest at least. Told her gimme 100 bucks and call it even. Then I went home and stalled it in the driveway and it never started again. hahah

Oh good times.

That is just one of many many stories I've had. My friends actually tell me now to park my car in the driveway or they make me drive for my own car's safety.

I borrowed my buddy's Tacoma to buy my registration/insurance on my 4runner when I bought it. As I was sitting in the vehicle in the parking lot, a lady opens her door and slams into his truck's mirror. She just starts walking into the store. I get out and said "Excuse me, at least you could say sorry!"

And her response?

"It was just your mirror!" and she got all pissy with her faces all scrunched up looking angry.

I can't believe how ignorant and irresponsible people can be. People who were in the parking lot also saw and were shaking their heads. I would have been fine with sorry. I told my buddy and thankfully he was ok with it, but I felt bad.

Should have keyed her car and wrote " It's just your paint".

This is the exact reason why i carry a shotgun, crowbar, and baseball bat in the runner.

Once some idiots tried to cut me off I'm a construction zone and they came so close the pushed my mirror FORWARD so I waited till we came to the light, pulled In front of them, got out.... And got even. Later that day I realized my mirror had room to by over extended and it wasn't broken.... Ooooops! Lol I'm pretty sure those guys will stop driving like it idiots now!

That sir, is pure jackassery. We'd all like to act on those impulses you described, but thought before action is just keeping your big boy pants on and staying out of jail. What if they had their ccw or even if they didn't. Anyway I guess point being on this. Stay out of jail and stay alive, somebody wants to be a douche I'm all for letting them know, but don't act on it

Part of me really wants to believe they did the right thing because it was the right thing, but the other part of me believes they did it because you left a note on their car and they knew that you have their license plate info...

I think the right thing would one, being careful. And two, after hitting the other vehicle (you'd know) you check it out and then leave a note on THEIR car.

I didn't know they hit my door. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it for weeks. They actually felt bad and probably walked around asking people for a while before they found the place I worked at (there were a few different businesses that use that parking lot). I was impressed.

On another note, I once had an illegal alien open his door on mine while I was still sitting in the drivers seat and acted as if nothing happened. I asked him if he was gonna pay for that and he just looked at me, not understanding (but obviously knowing what I was saying to him). About all I could do at that point was punch him, but I didn't. I just told him off in a foreign (to him) language and went inside the gas station. When I got out, he was still parked there (he was eating inside) and I noticed his registration was 4 or 5 years expired. Big surprise, so I called the Sheriff. Don't know if they ever showed up.

I read your original post completely wrong. I read it as you saw that there was damage and you left a note on their car. Not sure how I did that.

Funny how i responded to this thread

yesterday morning and then riding home from work i witnessed a guy driving a PU literally ram into 4 parked cars, get out of the truck and run from the accident. I followed a distance behind the guy while giving the cops his description and proximity. Sure hope they got the douche bag.:boxer:

Apparently its time for me to get some sliders, then when people ask where I go play I can say, its for parking lots.... What a ****ING pose boy

Your right this is turning out to be a nice rant thread

And what else would you use them for?

Problem with that is all my friends that would go out and get rigs dirty would rather blow through mud than go places where you'd need sliders, so needless to say I'm not doing any trails that would be a problem for a stock rig.

I say all my friends like I have more than 2 on this side of the state

I f'd up once by trying to parallel park by driving in forwards. Predictably, my rear bumper hit the other parked car, resulting in significant damage to the fender, bumper, hood and headlight assembly which ended up completely ripped out. No damage to my truck thanks to a custom meaty steel rear bumper (not my 4runner though). I felt like a complete chode so I did the right thing and left a detailed apology note with all my contact details.
I never heard a thing back.

Come meet up in the Cascades. I'm not a crawler at all. I use my rig mainly to get where I want to go and for exploring. Most of the trails I'm on, stock would be just fine, but having sliders is definitely nice. As I'm sure you're aware, the winters here can play havoc on the trails. I've rubbed them up against plenty of downed trees and rocks wedging myself through spots that were once wide open.

Pretty much the same thing I do up in priest lake. I could go play in those mountains though too. Let me know

I hit an old VW Rabbit once and left my info. They called me to tell me that they couldn't even tell the difference. I was sure I had ripped off their bumper. Some people are very forgiving.

Man, that has to be one of the most gorgeous lakes around. The old growth forests up North of Priest are killer too.

one way street, two lanes.

Earlier this year... I stopped at a red light on the left lane of the one way street. The car to my right approaches the red light and suddenly spots a parking spot to their right. They decide to reverse into it from the position the were in on the lane next to me. Remember, we are both stopped at the red light. As they turn their wheel to the right so that they can reverse into the spot, their driver side front fender whips into my wheel, fender, and some of my door. Obviously, if i wasn't there, they'd cross into the lane i were in in order to reverse into the spot.. but i was freakin THERE in my lane.

The girlfriend passenger tried to pull a fast one and said i drove into them. How stupid are you? If i did, wouldn't my bumper be hitting their their instead of the other way around? Didn't their dumb*** see me there when they approached the red light?

:roadkill:

same thing happen to me except that old lady was dressed as a tree.

I have been running around w/o a front bumper and every time I go out I get people trying to get me to rear end them. I have seen people stop extremely early for lights, slowly move and then stop when the light turns green, try to back into me at a light, cutting me off when I'm coming up to a red light, or just cutting me off w/o the safe distance and then slam on the brakes. (Plus no one knows how to use a blinker or look for one) I swear people see a nice truck missing its bumper and think I am not watching and I'm just going to hit them. They think I have hit someone in the past when the reality was a braking or ABS failure and a concrete parking post. I can't drive the way it sits w/o someone pulling some sort of B/S. The new valance should be here today and I just have to wait and paint tell after the tranny cooler install. (would much rather a snow plow but I guess police frown on pushing cars off the road)

that happened to me a lot and in February this lady with a last name of Lemon slammed her ford escape into park and I tapped her rear bumper I got careless driving and my insurance company said they sent her a check for $2000
