All lights off?

I have an '04 Limited v8 and we really like it, but when you start it to let it warm up I can't figure out how to turn all of the lights off. The switch turns off the headlights/taillights, but the DRL's stay on. I've tried everything and I would really like to turn them off while it's warming up.

Pulling the parking brake should shut the DRLs off

If you look in the owners manual it will tell you how to turn them off. But if you want them on again you will have to go through the programming process. No easy on/off switch.

Before you turn on the truck, depress the parking brake. Then turn it on. The DRL's should be off. Unless that's another vehicle I'm thinking of.

I tried that, because it worked on other vehicles, but I guess Toyota decided to do it differently.

Gotcha, I didn't see that in the manual.

DRL and DRL Mod

The DRLs should come on when the brake is released and the car taken out of park. So if your parking brake is on and the car is in park, then the DRLs should be off when you turn it on.

However, there is a mod you can do so you can turn them on or off whenever you want. Here is the link to J.A.'s page on how to do it. I've done this on my 05 and it works properly.
