This thread seems a bit asinine IMO, especially for a brand that's supposed to be so notoriously reliable to make a thread about owing a vehicle for a year with no issues.

I actually bought my 4Runner because I wanted something as relatively maintenance free as my Chevrolet but returned better fuel economy.

Although I kinda wish these trucks had more problems because then I would have more interesting things to read. Instead it's just threads about coil spacers and roof racks.

Hah I thought the same thing. I originally started wanting a jeep and was hanging out in their forums for a couple of months. If you want lots of issues... definitely consider a Wrangler.

I soon thereafter discovered my love for T4R.

had one an 02 with a pro comp 4" short arm and anemic 4cyl and 5 speed
 
I picked up my new 4runner yesterday and drove it all the way home and washed it without a single problem. 6 miles.... Solid as a rock.

My friend bought a JGC and it died about 1/4 mile after leaving the dealer. He now has $8k in repair bills.

I love Toyota's.

Hah, been there done that. I had a Jeep out in Colorado and ended up having to drive it to Alabama the same weekend as that massive ice storm a few years ago. The 4WD kept it on the road nicely, but the stupid AC blower crapped out right after I left (around 600 miles on the odometer) so I had no heat for most of the trip. :cry:
