All Pro 3.5 rear coils

It would probably be OK, but I would definitely try and invest in new shocks and avoid flexing it out with them, 5100s are designed to operate within 0-2" of rear lift and you could have issues with over compressing the shock on up travel as well as bottoming out the shock on down. It's better to get a shock with a stroke designed for that lift height.

So would I be encounting the same issues by just putting a 1.5 spacer on top of my 2.0 SuperFlex coils and leaving the 5100's?

Yeah. The 5100s aren't designed to operate with that much lift. I have 1 2" spacer on my superflexes to correct the lean so each coil would up giving around 2.5 instead of 2 and I still have billies. Going to get extended travel rear shocks eventually, but maybe that solution would work better for you if you don't want to upgrade shocks.

However, You could sell your 5100s and get 5125s and probably wind up being out ~100 or so.

Zopperman is right 5100s are to short and you will bottom them out easily. I have 5100s for a tacona with 4-5" lift and they work out good. Only thing you have to change out the eye bushing which isnt bad and only cost like 5 bucks for the bushings

Do you have a link to those? I like the dampening of the 5100s and I'm afriad the softer valving of the 5125 would make my rear ride poorly. but i want more flex :bigok:

So would it be better to run the 5125's or the taco 5100's with swapped out bushings?

Kinda. Your asking a shock that is designed for 0-2" lift to now operate with a 3" lift and the associated travel

So what's gonna be my best shock to run with AP 3.5 rear coils to have good flex and articulation while still supporting loaded cargo and additional weight.?

Bilstein 5125, 5160
Radflo, icon, etc. will also have extended travels shocks that will mate well with the longer coils.

Additionally, I've read on the other site on Norsemans' build that due to the increased flex, the rear coils may pop out of their seating. You may need to get longer bump stops to avoid this.

In the rear, the shock limits down travel, so if the shock is long enough it allows the spring to fully extend, then yes the spring can fall out. For this reason, your shocks should be matched to your lift height. If you run up to 2-2.5" lift, a standard travel shock such as the 5100's should be fine. If you go above that, you should look into some longer shock options (several options have been listed).

The bump stops limit your up travel. Trying to fix rubbing by lifting higher is the wrong way to go. Yes, if you sit higher it will have to compress more before it will rub, but it will still rub when flexed (since you haven't moved bump stops). If you really want to prevent rubbing, drop your bump stops or start cutting. Adding lift is a band-aid to the problem (if that's the only reason you're doing it).

not to hijack a thread but I've been searching around and cant find the answers I'm looking for so maybe you guys will know..

I'm going to be running a similar rear, but instead of AP 3.5, I'll have ome 885 with DS spacers going on top. my question is..
Which is the better option to go with, Icon VS 2.0 or the Bilstein 5160 remote res? I have 5100s now and like the ride but I know they'll top out with 3-3.5" of lift

The OME 885 is a front coil and will not work on the rear since they are a much smaller diameter. Did you mean the 895?

yes sorry typo. 895

They will both accommodate the lift it's really just a matter of preference. I haven't had any experience with either of them in particular but they are both a great shocks. If I were to choose I would probably go with the Bilstein just because I've been happy with the 5100's so far.
