a battery and a simple pump setup and yea you could have 18 gal of spare capacity.

the first thing I noticed was the second trailer hitch. not sure what the legal eagles would say about it? I think you can gang trailers... just a length limit? and or GVWR?

Depends on State, not sure if you can with a bumper hitch. Usually done with 5th wheel or goose neck hitch. Make sure that tranny's been serviced...

My appeal is the cool factor and the overall practicality, the noted additional benefits of such a trailer.

As said earlier, if at/around 2,000 pounds (a guess) empty, once loaded up with 500 to 1,000 pounds or more of stuff, I wouldn't find that desirable though.

With weight in-mind, I picked this up about a year ago for a few hundred bucks.

Aluminum panels. The seller/builder said it's much than less than 500 pounds, likely about 400...

Oh well, a project after the 4Runner is "complete", likely next summer for fall...

Huh, never thought I would see this here! Saw this guy driving around town the other day, definitely caught my eye. If I see him again I'll try to snag some more photos and see what else I can find out.
