Alpine ILX-F309 GPS and Android Auto not working....

Hi guys, I haven't posted in a while, but I just installed the Alpine ILX-F309 last week and I'm experiencing two problems.

One, Android Auto (AA) will not launch with my Samsung Galaxy S20+. Anyone else have the same issues?

Secondly, older Samsung Phones will work with AA (my wifes S10+ works), but the GPS from the head unit does not seem to be working (the Maestro ST02 GPS adapter is installed).

Any help would be appreciated

Did you get the GPS antenna adapter? The headunit may need a firmware update.

Yes I did. I called Alpine and they don't "think" it needs a firmware update. I researched Alpine's website like crazy and didn't find links for any updates either.

You need a special "Android Auto" app is what I found, I just installed my ILX-F309 as well.

I had to install Android Auto - Google Maps, Media and Message onto my Pixel to get it to work with my HU

Question, did you ever figure out how to get the Nav to work. I have the same problem. Thanks!

In all seriousness, it started working on its own. I THINK Android Auto and my phone received updates which enabled everything to work. I didn't update the head unit nor make any hardware changes. What phone do you currently have?
