Alternate Snow Tire Sizes

Hi All - I have a 2015 4Runner ltd which comes with 245-60R20 tires. I want snow tires but they seem to not exist in this size anywhere - online (tirerack, etc.) and locally (bigO, Firestone, Les Schwab). What are reasonable other sized that are a safe alternative where I can use my existing rims, etc. Thanks!

Bridgestone Blizzaks seem to be the only dedicated winter tire for these 20 inch Limited rims that I have found.

Thanks Bossman, but I called and they dont actually have it - Bridgestone discontinued that size. AFAIKT, there is no snow tire in existence in that size. So what size would be a safe alternative?

OP - do you plan to swap summer/winter tires on/off with the one set of 20" wheels?

If yes, unless you can DIY, that gets expensive quickly, and eventually will damage your 20s.

Many owners will opt for a 17" wheel/snow tire set ... many tire options then.

Use the sticky search for 'snow tires' .... many, many threads.

It might be time to consider some dedicated 17" winter wheels. There's quite a few very good options for 265/70/r17. They will be considerably cheaper and a tire for a 20" rim too

I bought set of 17" SR5 wheels and 245/75-17 Firestone Winterforce - I'm happy - after small piece of black tape to hide TPMS light.

As others have said, just get a cheap set of winter rims. You can probably find some on Craigslist or elsewhere. I just got another set of rims for my winter tires and it's 100 times easier to deal with. Not to mention the were charging me $40 per swap. @ 2 swaps a year, I would have paid for the second set of rims in just a few years. Not to mention, you will have a bunch of tire choices of you go with a set of 17in rims and the tires themselves are likely to be much cheaper.

I've seen 17" SR5 mags for sale on eBay for about $100 each... 17" Trail mags for only a few dollars more. Three seasonal tire changes (fall, spring, fall or vice versa) and you'll have spent more than that already. (Not to mention the possibility of the tire changing monkey to have damaged your 20" rims... or the occasional hassle of getting a decent balance, etc.)

Agreed, around here on craigslist you can get a full set of SR5 wheels for $300
