Alternative head-unit location

I'm going to get a (full din) JVC Navigation unit that plays DVD-Audio.
The problem is I have a lot of Super Audio CD's too,
and the half height Sony MEX-DV2000 is the only head unit that will play these.
Anyone place a head unit besides the usual space ?
I'll probably put a switch box for the 2 in the glove box. (y-adapters cables might not work).
Both units will have a 5 analog cables coming out of them (2 Fronts, 2 Rears, Sub, but no center)
and eventually ending up in an amp under the passenger's seat.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Sounds like a pain in the butt!
I was gonna suggest the glove box, but if you're already going to put stuff there then I don't know. If you do put it in there make sure you have a little room around it so it don't overheat.
I suppose if you wanted to have some fun you could make a custom console to mount it all in.

Why not locate the Sony unit in your center console, and use the RCA front outs from the Sony as signal to the AUX input on the navigation unit? That's a lot easier than doing a switching box, etc. Whenever you want to listen to the Sony unit, switch sources on the JVC to aux.

Yeah. I might try the glove box.
I use to have an old convertible, and the "real" stereo was in the glove box, and the the original stereo was the decoy.
By center console I think your meaning where the astray would be?
I'm wondering if CD's will play in a vertical orientation.
I'd lose the rear channels and the LFE (sub) with aux inputs on the Nav.
