My alternator took a dump on me this past weekend. Car is still driving fine, but I am charging the battery as well. I've been reading and searching, but no solid answers. I know nothing beats OEM parts, but I wanted to get someones input. Cheapest OEM Denso Re-Manufactured Alternator is $180-$200 with a 1 year warranty, verses O'Reillys Re-Manufactured $130 with Lifetime Warranty. The Lifetime Warranty is whats almost steering me towards it. Has anyone ever used any alternator that is not OEM and doing fine? Thanks.

Not sure if you have the V8 or V6, but advance has the Denso remanufactured for 181.69 w/ free shipping+71.00 core. Apply code SCW227 and you will get about $50 off.
They also have non-oem on their site. I have put non-oem alternators on other peoples cars, no issues.

Little more expensive and not life time warranty, but I've been running a 240a alternator from this place for a year now and it's been great. I actually kept my stock alternator as a backup.

Between lights, fridge, dual batteries, and eventual winch I figured I'd need the upgrade eventually so I picked one up while I had the cash floating around. Since you need one today, I'd just get the autozone or whatever one with the lifetime warranty and be done with it.

im using mechman high output 240amp alternator, no problems, just need a shorter belt, i have a v6.
buy online, pickup in store. This is quite a solid tactic for parts you need the same day.
However, even with discount codes & speedperks, I find Rock Auto to STILL be cheaper than AA.
i was able to find a local shop to has a denso reman with lifetime warranty for $140.00. came in a denso box and had a denso sticker on the alternator. it is in the car and working perfect. thanks for your input guys!

I agree that Rock Auto is way cheaper if you can wait for it to ship, they have the Denso 130 Reman for $112.79 plus $68 core charge total $180.79, can't beat that with a stick, albeit still only 12 month warranty.
Nice!! My shop does these all the time. Over the years I've tried various different alternators and starters and none have been the quality that Denso puts out. Sure you can get one cheaper somewhere else but how many times do you want to do this job. I prefer once

yeah i actually couldnt wait. i use my truck for work and need it to be solid. i was able to charge it in the morning at work before heading to a job, but got it changed in the afternoon. buddy of mine helped me while i was working. $140 was still a great price with lifetime warranty.

You basically skip the stock wiring and run 1/0 gauge direct from the alt to the battery and then upgrade your grounds from the battery to the fender and battery to engine block to 1/0.

I didn't see your post until after I posted my reply, yes I do think you got a GREAT deal, I would have jump on it at that price as well, not really more expensive than Rock Auto because there would be shipping added as well on top of $112 and when you consider the lifetime warranty I would say it's a better deal than Rock Auto!!

you dont really skip it, it just an add on, and itll uses what ever that is least resistance to give more flow.
