Am I alright? cv axle Q

I was replacing the upper ball joint and managed to pull the knuckle too far out to fit the press. I could not press it back in because something in the cv boot was binding. I turned the wheel studs and got it to slip back in. I'm thinking it should be ok now but just wanted to make sure.

I was planning to replace the brakes but could not get the caliper bolts off. My 300 ft lb impact gun could not loosen em. What a PITA. Any tricks to getting them off?

Your fine with cv. Inner cv slides back and forth. I took a breaker bar loosen the bolt off caliper and used impact gun to take off rest of the way.

I tried my 3 ft 3/4" wrench on it and I could feel the nut starting to strip so I stopped.

It's REALLY on there tight and doesn't appear to be rust-welded. I'll give it another go tomorrow and hopefully I don't end up throwing tools in the woods.

Soak the bolts for a few days with PB Blaster or your choice of penetrating oil.

I got Kroil but it's hard to spray them with the rotor in the way.

Some heat from a propane torch would help. If it's not rusty someone must've put threadlocker on the bolts. And if they used red threadlocker, which I hope they didn't, heat is recommended.

Get some cardboard to protect the rotor.

I think all been said with pb blaster and heat. Hopefully they didn't put red threadlock.
