Amazing Plasti-Dip Result....... I am SOLD!

My 1997 4Runner..... almost 18yrs old with 270k miles on it....

The paint was basically trashed:

I saw some reference to "Plasti-Dip" on here, and I searched for it on YouTube.... and it seemed too good, too easy, to be true.... yet, nothing can make my trashed paint any worse....

So, 2 days later..... 1 day of buying supplies, washing and masking.... and 1 day of 3 coats of plasti-dip.... here it is!!!

Amazing!

No prep, just taped up the windows, it sprayed gracefully, no runs at all, and it also dried evenly....

I sprayed it on EVERYTHING.... the hitch, the bush guard, the door handles, the running board..... etc...

Looks nice. I want to spray some on just my hood and roof. I can't decide on a color though that won't look too weird. My faded paint is getting to me.

Did you buy rattle cans to do your job?

Impulse project......
- First read about "Plasti-Dip" on a Thursday
- YouTubed it on a Friday
- Went to HomeDepot Saturday morning, bought a pressure washer and 18cans of black Plasti-Dip; taped up the car Saturday night
- Sprayed 3 coats, using 15 cans on Sunday

I think "matte black" will work on your hood and roof.... and you can also spray your front bull bumper too

I want to avoid black if I can. Black and 120 degree weather here aren't the funnest mixture lol. I was thinking like a grey or something but I need to see how that would look with my red.

I've been thinking about doing this, your results look awesome. Can you post more pics?
