Amber 4157 for DRL's - Anyone change 'em to white?

I do have the DRL's but I'll definately check the bulbs before ordering anything, especially after reading all the posts here.

That's why I'm considering the 4157 Silverstars. According to Sylvania, they emit yellow light which I'm hoping isn't the "almost orange" that my stock bulbs give off.

Yeah. I just don't need any extra attention drawn to me with how dark my tint is, and technically aftermarket HID's are illegal too. But I don't think those LED's that I linked are worth 54.99 + shipping. The ones that are white one DRL, then turn amber when the turn signals are on.

Yeah, but no cop is going to pull you over for that. I've had them in the front and rear ever since my 02 and have never gotten pulled over.

if u have drl, the bulbs are 4157, if they didnt come with drl its 1157, the ones that sylvania list are sometimes wrong, just take out the bulb and check, i did this mistake too, got the 4157 kuss the sylvania website said it, but when i got everything delivered, and try it, it didnt even fit, since it was suppose to be 1157, lucky the place that shipped to me was 15 mins away and it was by my job.

It takes less than a minute to pop your hood and pull it out, so it can't hurt. better to be safe.

So which ones are you going for? Does PIAA make a compatible white bulb for the blinkers/DRLs?

Does it require you to remove the headlight housing to replace these bulbs?

Yeah I've got PIAA superwhites and they work great, it takes about a minute to change them. Don't have to remove the headlight.

My 06 has DRL's and they are 1157.

I tried the Silverstar lights but the color of both bulbs was a little different so I just put regular 1157 back in.

Well, not really,went out and made sure the 1156 bulb that came in my 4R is the 1157 I ordered,looks like it. BUT,I still have the little amber bulb down lower to deal with,says on bulb..12V.WY5W E4 7Y8, it's the wedge type,comes on as parking lamps. Won't matter to me if it changes to amber or not,I'm wanting it to be white like the 1157.Thanks for being patient with an old fart! :bigok:

Thats the one that comes on with your headlights. It's a 168/194 wedge bulb.

Yep, did some lookin'& checkin' ,found the bulbs from TT Stuff,saved a few bucks and got the 3-5 day shipping on 'em.Probably ordered the wrong bulbs for the DRLs though, ordered 'em before I saw the stock ones were 1156, not 1157.

The parking light below the turn signal is a 194.
