Ok im sure this has been brought up at least a few times but a search did not give me an answer.....

Simply where are you guys, who have a non JBL system 5thgen, hooking up the remote wire for your added amps? Ciggy lighter in the center stack?...or directly to a always hot fuse in the fuse box?...or somewhere else. Again sorry for the question but if anyone has an answer just let me know.

Thanks.

You can tap in just about anywhere that only comes on when the key is in the ACC position (unless you want your amp to be on all the time). If it were me, I would tap in behind the stereo in case I ever decided to go with an aftermarket stereo. Can't tell you what wire it is on a 5th gen, but on my 2007 and my 2001 it's the gray wire going to the larger wire harness.

Yeah I dont know why I said always on...meant acc only lol. When you say behind the stereo do you mean in the harness?

Vwright14 Sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification...anyway, yes I was referring to the wire harness directly behind the stereo.
