I'm glad to hear that everyone is ok.... but who are these friends of yours!!!!!! :gun5: That just isn't cool. I hope that your insurance does what it's supposed to and you can build another DD/off-road rig soon. Oh man... it's hurts just to look.... :moping:
 
Trevor should just give you his SAS'ed 2nd gen once he swaps in that 3.4 hahaha he owes you BIG!!! I don't remember you telling me he was night wheeling?!? At the Gap alone at night? Not smart... that is very very dangerous. I'm surprised he didn't roll down the hill before he even got to the cattle guard. When I got up there to meet you guys I thought he had just rolled it Sat morning. I didn't know you guys had been up there since 2am!! DAMN you didn't even seem that mad Sam! I would be PISSED lol.... well let me know what you decide to do. Hope it all works out man. Give me a call anytime.
 
No more pics of how you pulled it over?? did you winch off the Rock Crawler? howd that all work? Im super interested in your recovery there.

one of the land cruiser guys has video of the recovery. see in the last pic where they ran the line through the pulley (i think), and wrapped the chain around the tire... then they ran the winch line through the sunroof and pulled it over.

The irony is that I just sold Trevor the 95. Honestly I am more sad than mad right now. He knows that he screwed up big time. My yelling at him wouldn't help. He is going to be responsible for the financial part of this whole thing. I'm not sure what that looks like exactly yet but I do trust him to make it right. My fear is where do I find a 99 sr5 with a 5speed to replace it. Honestly I really try to live with the understanding that God really does own everything I have and I am simply a manager of his stuff. I will be more careful who I let borrow God's stuff in the future. Lol here is some pics of the damage

yeah it's a horrible sight man, I'm sure he feels terrible. I'll keep an eye for for another 99 5speed for ya... I'm sure some of the guys on the forum will be on the lookout too.

That's exactly right. I wedged the crawler and ran a logging chain around the front axel and tire to a snatch block then the winch through the snatch block to the strap which was around the passenger door and sun roof. Once on the wheels again let all the fluids drain back into the right places. It started right up and we backed it out letting the winch out as we did. Really went pretty easy compared to what it could have been.

It's got to be a difficult thing to go through for sure but it looks like you've got the right attitude about it. Good on ya. :trophy:
 
I loved that truck! so simple and clean but badass at the same time. Sorry to hear about your loss but get another 3rd gen and swap everything over since you already invested a bunch of money into it. At least then youll still have a piece of this one.

Nah. He is still gonna be my good friend. He is beating himself up plenty. Lol. Though my wife made the comment that I better do some training with him once his runner is done. If this teaches him to be a smarter wheeler it is worth it. trucks can be replaced but it's hard to get somebody undead. I've paid my share of stupid tax over the years. The runner will live on in some way or another:trophy: I've pretty much decided that I will remove all of the lift and put the stock suspension and tires back on before it goes to the insurance adjuster.

Lol. No I wish I did but honestly it simply has the standard 1st gen stuff. Alcan springs with homemade jonney joint shackles, dual 2.3 marlin cases, crossover steering, longfield cromo 30 spline front axles, and 39.5 pittbull rockers. Then a fair amount of sawzall work out back. The wheelbase is streached to 110". It needs a cage and I have a ford 5.0ho waiting to go in:surfer: but it sure is fun to get out and drive

wow, I just read this thread from the start and I was not prepared for that update...I'm sorry to hear about the roll-over. I must say you are handling this situation like a true man. That was a beautiful truck, best of luck in the future with a new 4runner

Those pictures hurt, it looks just like my Runner. Good to see your taking it well and know that the Lord will always provide and protect. You'll find another or something better, Good Luck and I'll keep an eye out (TX isn't too far from AZ)
