Annoying fog light issue / possible wiring problem...

When I turn my fog lights on my right fog light comes on perfectly, but on the left fog light the blinker just turns on to a solid state in place of the fog light. Never realized this problem before this weekend. I figured one of the foglights was just burnt out, but that's not the case. Very strange.. Any suggestions? I'm not really sure I want to start messing with all the wiring. Most likely not but maybe a fuse problem? Please help!!! has anyone had this issue before?

apparently the blinker light is stuck on in the back also when then fog lights are turned on.

I was going to say at first you had your lights swapped in the fog light harness.... but then you showed the pictures with the rear blinker on... not a clue.

that is some serious electrical gremlins.

Any mods/electrical work to your lights, punched through your firewall with a coat hanger and grounded out a wire?

Does the blinker blink when you turn it on or stay solid?

Like you said, the first thing I would think of is the fuses, but that also looks like a wiring harness/connector was clipped into the wrong slots.

Can you trace your wires? Start with the side that works.... follow them back as far as you can. Then trace the wires on the funky side.

could be the power wire from the fog going to the front turn signal. i dont know how the turn signal is wired but if power was to the front signal it could in turn power the rear. is there a dash light on from the turn signal when the fogs are on?

I found it by going to upgrade my headlights, foglights, and blinkers this weekend and i realized the problem. I've had my 4runner for a year and I've never turned on the foglights and realized the problem. I'm not experienced at all with the wiring. Hopefully swapping fuses will fix the problem. When i bought the car last year it was stock minus a viper alarm so hopefully they didnt screw something up when installing that. when i turn on the blinker as long as the fog lights are off everything is normal, but when the fog light switch is on that side doesnt even blink it just stays solid...

I don't know how the fog's power wire could've gotten into the turn signal. It looks exactly like the other side from what i saw, at least it does closer to where you plug in the lights, I haven't yet followed all the way up in the wires. Yes, the dash light is on solid also when the fog light switch is on.

Did you install LED Bulbs or harness when upgrading? I've run into that problem and had to take the LED bulb out and turn it over, then things worked fine.

If not try to find the wiring for the fog lamp switch and make sure that hasn't been tapped into.
