annoying 'squeek' coming from 04 4Runner Sport

Hey guys, my 2004 4Runner Sport v8 4x4 with 50,000 miles on it (NO sunroof) has developed a squeek coming from what sounds like the outside of the vehicle on the passenger side. I thought it was coming from the inside the vehicle, but when I roll down the passenger side window, it gets a lot louder inside the cabin. I cant figure out where its coming from. Suspension maybe? Something that needs a little lubrication perhaps?

It definitely a squeek, not a rallte, and I only hear it when I hit little bumps, not big dips or holes in the road. Any ideas where it might be coming from? It sounds like a little bid chirping inside the cabin! Its realy weird.

I had that "bird chirping" squeek 2 mos. ago. The dealership cleaned out all of my brakes and STILL had the bird chirp. It gets louder when i drive slower (10-15 mph) and goes away when i tap on the brakes. Thought my 4runner was spooked. Long story short, i troubleshot that it was my footbrake that was loose. So i took it back and they tightened and lubricated my footbrake system. No more bird chirping!

Do you know exactly which parts were lubed inside the cabin, outside, etc.

Check the suspension. I had the same problem, it turned out that the rear passenger side control arm bracket had been bent in towards the control arm itself. Everytime the suspension articulated it would squeek do to metal on metal rubbing. The solution was to remove the control arm, beat the bracket out, and then lubricating the suspension. I got lucky my mechanic did it for free when I was complaining about the new brake pads squeeking. The brakes STILL make noise, but the suspension is fixed. :bigok: Hope this helps. To diagnose my suspension problem I took the sophisticated (Sp?) route and had a buddy jump up and down on the hitch while i was under the vehicle.

They said it was outside to tighten it up then they lubed it from there.

Thanks for that bit of info. When its a little warmer than -55F outside, i'll go look into it a bit more.
