Another Bilstein 5100 set-up question(s)

Ok, I am finally going to make the jump and upgrade the suspension a little, going to go with the 5100 series (adjustable). Now, after a dozen or more thread searches I can not find the answer to a simple question I have (maybe it is common sense to all of you though). If I go with the 5100 adjustable, do I only need the adjustable in the front? The Toytec kit has the adj in the front and the std 5100 in the rear. I'm assuming they don't make an adjustable for the rear and that you need spacers back there to lift it (based on Toytec's options)?

Now...if I stick with the stock height in the rear (from thread searching) it looks like the front set at .85 will 'level' the 4R, is this correct?

If I go with the rear 1.5" lift spacer, what would I need to set the fronts at to make it 'level' then?

I am NOT planning to go up on my tire size anytime in the near future so with that said if I go with that 2nd lift options will the 4R look 'silly' with too much room in the wells?

I know some of you had mentioned issue with installing the shocks from the places you took them. I call Bilstein to see if they were planning an 'official' release for the 10'+ as when you search, even on their site, the 5100 ADJ are not listed for ours yet. The 'main guy' called me back and said they were 'just released' and gave me the part # 24-186711 which of course is the one that has been out for a while. I mentioned the bushing issue listed on here and he said they were aware of it and compensated for it. How true this is I have no idea.

I'm quite happy with them.
 
From everything you have said above is correct as I know it. I think I read the "2nd notch" for levelling with 1.5 inch lift. Your truck will only look silly if you think it does. Other opinions are just that.

Has anyone installed the 1.5" lift in the rear and kept the stock tire size? If so I would LOVE to see photos! Thanks.

I have 1.75 set up with 1.5 rear spacer at stock tire size.Sorry pics not level.

before i went full suspension i had my bilsteins set to .85 front to level.. it was too low.. go 1.5 front which is 2nd notch from top..

if you go 1.5 spacers in back.. go all the way up front.. trust me.. save yourself the trouble

Very interested in this thread. Been researching this for some time now. Looking to do/have the same setup you are looking for too, Westwind.

Me three!!! Being we are all north easterners, would be cool if we met somewhere in middle and got the install done at same spot to save a few bucks maybe. Just thinking out loud here.

EDIT:

You two are a lot closer to each other than I am to you. I might be willing to drive up there and maybe visit some family while getting work done if it saves me and you guys some money

Sounds good to me, we'll see what Westwind77 has to say. BTW - I'm out in Suffolk right now (took the ferry so I wouldn't have to drive around).

Very nice! Great color too, seen a lot of new 4R's around, but only 2 red, both were SR5's. Thanks for the photo.

Bilstein Height adjustable front and matching 5100 Rear shocks - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

I have a couple places in mind for the install, I called them a while back when I 1st started to do it and they said no problem and for reasonable (will have to call back to get the price as I dont remember exactly) The place I will probably go is a few miles from me and they have worked on a few of my vehicles in the past and he/they are good. I've never had an issue or heard anything negative about them.

Like I said above I have a feeling I am going to just take it to the shop a few miles from me. I have a little one so the easiest/closest/most trustworthy place wins!

Thanks Philsey and Deka3! IMO, the ride is better.Stiffer but comfy.hard to explain. No more floaty feel and no more nose dive on hard braking. Coming from a sport 09 taco with the same set up, it is better(stiffer on the taco at 1.75 billys).I have to say i need new coils and shocks on the rear though. Thats gonna be on top of my "to do list".
